OASIS Hub Members Attend All-Hub Meeting in Edinburgh

The Microtex Hub hosted the inaugural EPSRC Research & Partnership Hubs for health technologies - All-hub meeting in Edinburgh on 7-8 September 2026.

Attending on behalf of the OASIS Hub were Prof Dan Stoyanov, Dr Su-Lin Lee, Simon Watt, Dr Danielle Harper, Prof Dan Elson, Dr Ahmed Elamin, Dr Charly Caredda, and Dr Jianrong Qiu.

The two-day meeting brought together directors, managers, PPIE leads, researchers and students from the five hubs, along with representatives of the EPSRC healthcare technologies team and members of the Hubs Steering Board. The meeting began with an overview of all the hubs by their respective directors followed by a Collaboration Workshop led by Prof Sara Shinton, where hub members ideated ways to work together and share best practice.

Attendees were then treated to a Provocateurs Edinburgh Festival Fringe show by Dr Tomas Deingruber and a private, after-hours visit to the Surgeons' Hall Museum with dinner and drinks.

The next morning, whilst hub management met with EPSRC and the Steering Board, a mix of researchers presenter flash talks took place, alongside a viewing of Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) posters created by the hub PPIE leads.

Presentations and a panel discussion on partnership and translational challenges showcased shared obstacles hub members face, sparking discussions on best ways to deal with them.

As the meeting closed, the most popular flash talks were awarded certificates, and we left brimming with ideas for new collaborations.

A massive thank you to the Microtex team for hosting this first meeting. The OASIS Hub are looking forward to welcoming everyone to London next year!
